In an electric press showcase held in Seoul on Wednesday, acclaimed soloist Kwon Eun-bi revealed her much-anticipated solo single, "The Flash," aimed at solidifying her image as the sexy summer queen. Making a comeback after 10 months, the former I*Zone member aims to captivate audiences with an album comprising three distinct songs, all resonating with the vibrant essence of the summer season.
Kwon Eun-bi's title track, "The Flash," sets the stage with an upbeat dance pop tune, drawing inspiration from the mythical persona of Persephone. The song narrates a compelling love story, likening the moments of falling in love to an enthralling game. "I hope it's loved by not only my fans but the public," Kwon expressed during the event, brimming with excitement about her latest musical venture.
Adding to the festival-friendly vibe of the album is the track "Comet," promising to be a crowd-pleaser at summer gatherings. Additionally, Kwon's prowess as a lyricist shines through in "Beautiful Night," a vivacious band score where she is credited as the main lyricist.
The anticipation for Kwon Eun-bi's summer comeback soared even higher following her scintillating performance at the annual Waterbomb music festival. The singer's mesmeric stage presence enthralled audiences not just in South Korea but also in Japan, where she graced the Waterbomb events in July. The resurgence of her song "Underwater" from her previous EP "Lethality," in local music charts, further attests to her growing popularity and influence in the music industry.
"I feel lucky that I've made this connection with summer," Kwon shared her sentiments at the showcase, expressing her desire to be a recurring presence in people's minds every summer.
Kwon Eun-bi rose to prominence as the winner of Mnet's 2018 girl group audition program "Produce 48" and subsequently debuted as a member of the highly acclaimed project team I*Zone. Following the group's disbandment, Kwon embarked on her solo journey in August 2021, releasing her first EP "Open."
As the second anniversary of her solo debut approaches, Kwon Eun-bi reflects on her growth and progress in the past two years. Eager to continue her artistic evolution, she envisions a future of continuous experimentation and growth with each subsequent comeback.
With "The Flash" set to ignite the summer music scene, Kwon Eun-bi's reign as the season's queen seems destined to shine brighter than ever before.
