Melon Music Awards (MMA) 2023, a significant event in the South Korean music scene, will feature captivating performances by K-pop girl groups Ive, aespa, NewJeans, StayC, and Kiss of Life. Notably, the Melon Music Awards stands as one of the country's premier annual music award ceremonies.

Ive, having clinched four awards at MMA 2022, including Best Female Group, Top 10, Best Song, and Rookie of the Year, draws attention for their potential accolades this year. All three lead singles released in 2023 – "I AM," "Kitsch," and "Baddie" – have secured top positions on Melon's Top 100 chart.

Aespa, another powerhouse in the K-pop scene, reached the pinnacle of Melon's Top 100 chart with the single "Spicy" and garnered over 1 million streams within 24 hours of releasing their third EP, "My World."

NewJeans, a group that received two awards at the previous year's MMA, has sustained its upward trajectory by dominating Melon's Top 100 chart with hits like "Ditto" and "Super Shy."

StayC, honored with the Global Rising Artist award at MMA 2022, embarked on their first world tour, "Teenfresh," this year. Anticipation surrounds their potential performances of chart-topping hits "Teddy Bear" and "Bubble" at the upcoming event.

Rookie group Kiss of Life, debuting in July, quickly ascended to stardom. Expected to showcase their debut single, "Shhh," along with their latest release, "Bad News," the group adds a fresh dynamic to the diverse lineup.

The Melon Music Awards 2023 is scheduled to take place on December 2 at the Inspire Arena, a newly established K-pop concert venue in Yeongjeong-do, Incheon.
