The highly anticipated K-Pop Community Festival is making its return to Hong Kong in 2025, promising an unforgettable celebration of Korean pop culture for the city's vibrant community of K-Pop enthusiasts. The annual event will provide a dynamic platform for talented performers and dance teams to showcase their skills while bringing together audiences to experience the infectious energy of K-Pop music and choreography.
This year's festival will spotlight "The New Generation of K-Pop" as its central theme, featuring performances exclusively of K-Pop songs released during the 2020s. The thematic focus aims to highlight the vibrancy and evolving appeal of contemporary Korean pop music, allowing attendees to immerse themselves in the exciting developments of the current K-Pop era.
The Korea Cultural Center Hong Kong (KCCHK) has curated an impressive lineup that includes 13 local K-Pop dance cover teams alongside several distinguished special guests. In a unique opening performance, the Korean Taekwondo Association in Hong Kong will present an innovative "Taekwon Dance" showcase that creatively blends traditional Taekwondo movements with contemporary K-Pop elements, demonstrating the versatility and cultural fusion possibilities within Korean performance arts.
Adding to the international flavor of the event, the festival will feature XD, the champion team from the 2025 K-POP Power Dance Cover Competition in Macau, bringing their award-winning choreography to Hong Kong audiences. The diverse programming will also include performances by Engage, a senior dance group from TWGHs (Tung Wah Group of Hospitals), and a children's team from PRODANCE Dance School, showcasing K-Pop's appeal across different age groups and skill levels.
The complete roster of performing teams includes A.R.U, AW5, BOYZONE, Chocomint HK, Felinus, IAM PIXEL HK, PUZZLE, SNDHK, STAY, THE NOTCH, YES U, and YEZONE, representing the breadth of Hong Kong's local K-Pop cover dance community. These groups will compete and perform alongside the special international and intergenerational guests to present what organizers describe as "a fresh and exciting new face of K-Pop."
Ticket registration for the festival opened on Monday, September 15, at 3:00 PM through the Artmate website platform. Organizers are encouraging K-Pop fans to secure their spots early, emphasizing that this year's event promises to deliver an enhanced experience that celebrates both the established traditions and innovative developments within the K-Pop community.
