tvN Sports, in collaboration with South Korean cinema operator CJ CGV, is set to livestream an upcoming Bundesliga football match between FSV Mainz 05 and FC Bayern Munchen. The event will take place at CGV Gangnam in southern Seoul on Sunday, providing fans a unique viewing experience.
This particular game is being referred to as a "Korean derby" due to the participation of Korean midfielder Lee Jae-sung from Mainz and defender Kim Min-jae from Bayern Munchen, marking the first time they face off this year.
Bayern Munchen, currently contending for the top spot alongside Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, and VfB Stuttgart with an undefeated streak, will be facing Mainz, which is seeking its first league win.
CJ ENM, holding exclusive rights to screen Bundesliga matches since 2021, aims to bring the German football league closer to Korean fans, establishing itself as the home of Bundesliga in Korea. This collaboration with CGV allows sports enthusiasts to enjoy the Bundesliga Korean derby and other exciting matches on the big screens in theaters.
The special screening will exclusively take place at CGV Gangnam multiplex, with tickets priced at 20,000 won. Online ticketing is available through CJ CGV’s official website and mobile application.
The Korean derby is scheduled to be livestreamed at 1:30 a.m. local time on Sunday and will also be broadcasted on tvN Sports and local streaming platform Tving.
