This announcement follows Blackpink's recent renewal of their exclusive contract with YG Entertainment a couple of weeks ago. On December 6, all four members of Blackpink—Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa—confirmed their commitment to continuing group activities with YG Entertainment, the label where they originally debuted as Blackpink in 2016.
Jennie's announcement marks the first revelation among the Blackpink members regarding individual pursuits.
