K-pop label Attrakt has terminated the exclusive contracts with three members of the K-pop group Fifty Fifty: Saena, Aran, and Sio. The label announced on Monday that the termination was effective as of the previous Thursday.
The label stated that the action was taken due to the three members' failure to address their alleged serious breaches of the contracts, and discussions regarding further actions will take place in the future.
This decision comes after one of the group's members, Keena, recently returned to the agency, dropping her legal case against it.
Fifty Fifty had suspended its activities in June when they sought an injunction to suspend their exclusive contracts with the agency. The group had claimed that the company violated the contract terms by not providing accounting data and ensuring the physical and mental well-being of its members.
In August, a local court denied the injunction request. Nevertheless, the group continued their legal battle, challenging the court ruling.
However, the situation changed last Monday when Keena returned to the agency after withdrawing her appeal.
The label also initiated a damages suit against The Givers, the company's outsourced production firm, and its co-CEO and music producer, Ahn Sung-il. The suit alleges Ahn's involvement in the contract dispute, as he had produced the group's global hit "Cupid." Attrakt claimed that Ahn attempted to "poach" members of the group.
