The Korean romantic comedy film "Love Reset" has secured the top spot at the local box office for three consecutive weeks since its release, as confirmed by data on Monday.
Over the weekend, the movie drew approximately 246,000 moviegoers, contributing to 40.3 percent of total ticket sales, according to data from the Korean Film Council (KOFIC).
"Love Reset," directed by Nam Dae-jung and featuring Kang Ha-neul and Jung So-min in lead roles, centers around a married couple who both suffer from memory loss following a car accident, which occurs just 30 days before their planned divorce. The film hit local theaters on October 3 and reached its break-even point on Monday, with a cumulative attendance figure surpassing 1.6 million.
At the weekend box office, Martin Scorsese's "Killers of the Flower Moon" secured the second position, attracting around 56,000 moviegoers, accounting for 8.9 percent of the weekend's box-office revenue.
"The Exorcist: Believer" and the Korean noir thriller "Hwaran" claimed the third and fourth positions, respectively.
In advance ticket sales as of 8 a.m. on Monday, Hayao Miyazaki's Japanese animation, "The Boy and the Heron," was the leading choice among moviegoers. The film is set to open on Wednesday.
