In a significant achievement, K-pop powerhouse Stray Kids has made a remarkable debut on Oricon's weekly album chart with their first EP in Japan, as confirmed by their label, JYP Entertainment. The EP, titled “Social Path (feat. LiSA) / Super Bowl - Japanese ver.,” has dominated the daily album chart for an impressive six consecutive days since its release.
Breaking records from the onset, the mini-album saw a staggering 500,000 shipments on its release day, bolstered by an unprecedented 500,000 pre-orders—a remarkable first for a fourth-generation K-pop group in Japan. This feat underscores the growing influence and international appeal of Stray Kids.
Adding to their accolades, the eight-member band achieved the milestone of 100 million plays on Billboard Japan with their hit “Case 143,” featured on the EP “Maxident” released in October last year. This accomplishment positions Stray Kids as the second K-pop boy band to reach this milestone in Japan, following in the footsteps of the globally renowned BTS.
Emphasizing their global appeal, Stray Kids embarked on a tour across three cities in Japan from August, leaving an indelible mark by captivating over 140,000 concertgoers in total. The resounding success of their concerts sets the stage for their upcoming live performance in Tokyo, scheduled for late October, promising an electrifying experience for their dedicated fanbase and music enthusiasts worldwide. Stray Kids continues to trailblaze through the world of K-pop, leaving an enduring mark in their wake.
