A local German newspaper has launched its annual summer photo contest, inviting readers to submit their most beautiful vacation memories and summer snapshots. The NNZ-Online photo campaign runs from August 20 through August 31, 2025, encouraging amateur photographers to share their creative captures from the summer season.
The contest welcomes a diverse range of photographic subjects, including still life compositions, nature photography, animal portraits, and human subjects. Participants are encouraged to submit their personally taken photographs that best represent their summer experiences and memorable moments from their vacation travels.
For those interested in having their photograph featured as a cover image, submissions must be in landscape format and sent to e.wiegand@kyffhaeuser-nachrichten.de with the notation "Momentaufnahme im Sommer" (Summer Snapshot). Each submitted photograph requires proper attribution, including the photographer's name and a brief description of the image. An example showcased in the announcement features a Baltic Sea vacation photo taken by Eva Maria Wiegand.
In a new addition to this year's contest, the newspaper has expanded beyond photography to include written submissions. Participants who prefer writing over photography can submit short vacation stories, poems, or personal anecdotes from their summer experiences. The only requirement for written submissions is that they must be original works created by the submitter themselves.
The newspaper editorial team expressed excitement about receiving creative contributions from their readers and looks forward to showcasing the community's artistic talents and summer adventures. All submissions will be considered for publication, though the editorial staff reserves the right to make final selection decisions for featured content.
