South Korean entertainment agency Source Music confirmed on Thursday that popular K-pop girl group Le Sserafim is set to unveil their first English-language digital single titled "Perfect Night" on October 27. The track aims to convey the message that a day spent joyfully with a friend holds intrinsic value, regardless of perfection. The announcement was preceded by a motion slogan shared on Source Music's social media, featuring a pink sports car navigating through darkness, accompanied by the phrase, "Tonight, I don't care what's wrong or right."
Le Sserafim, a group consisting of Kim Chae-won, Sakura, Huh Yun-jin, Kazuha, and Hong Eun-chae, made their debut in May 2022 with the EP "Fearless," quickly skyrocketing to stardom. Their subsequent album, "Antifragile," released in October 2022, achieved a remarkable feat by entering the Billboard 200 albums chart in record time for a Korean girl group, securing the 14th spot. Notably, their LP "Unforgiven" in May set a new K-pop record with over 1.02 million copies sold on the first day, earning them the coveted "million-seller" title. Le Sserafim's surge in popularity extends beyond South Korea, particularly in Japan, the home country of two of its members, Sakura and Kazuha.
The group made their official Japanese debut in January, garnering instant success with the Japanese version of "Fearless," which achieved the highest first-week sales for a Korean girl group debut album in Japan. Notably, the album received double platinum recognition from the Recording Industry Association of Japan, marking a historic achievement for the group within the recording body's history. In a global outreach, Le Sserafim released an English version of the B-side track "Eve, Psyche & The Bluebeard's Wife" in July, gaining viral popularity among their international fanbase. "Perfect Night" stands as the group's first original English song, marking a significant milestone in their musical journey.
