Boy band Golden Child [WOOLLIM ENTERTAINMENT]
K-pop boy band Golden Child is preparing for their comeback, set to release their first album in over a year and three months in November, according to their agency, Woollim Entertainment. A teaser poster featuring the members and the phrase "Coming soon" was unveiled on midnight Wednesday, giving fans a glimpse of the impending release.
This upcoming album will mark Golden Child's first release since "Aura" in August of last year. The group, debuting in August 2017 as the second boy band under Woollim Entertainment after Infinite, faced intense competition from other major boy bands during the late 2010s.
However, Golden Child found success in the Japanese market after making their Japanese debut in January 2022 with the single "A WOO!!". The title track secured the top spot on Oricon, Billboard Japan, and Tower Records' weekly singles chart, propelling the band into the ranks of the sixth foreign boy group to achieve this feat. Subsequent releases, including the second Japanese single "RATA-TAT-TAT" in June 2022 and the third single "Invisible Crayon" in April 2023, continued to perform well on the Oricon weekly singles chart.
