Monsta X, which dropped its 12th EP "Reason" last January, topped the iTunes Top Albums charts in 15 nations, including the United States, as well as the iTunes Top Songs charts in 10 regions and the YouTube Music Videos Trending Worldwide Chart.
Last August, five of the six members of Monsta X renewed their contracts with their agency Starship Entertainment, with Joohoney being one of them. The sixth member, I.M., signed with Sony Music Entertainment later in December.
Joohoney's solo debut is expected to showcase his unique style and creativity, with fans eagerly anticipating the release of "Lights" and the start of a new chapter in his career.

Joohoney, the rapper and producer of K-pop group Monsta X, will be releasing his first solo EP in eight years since his debut with the band. Titled "Lights," the EP is set to drop on May 22, although no other details have been revealed yet except for a poster featuring an upside-down, desert-like image, which was released on Monday.
Joohoney has been actively involved in creating his own music since Monsta X's inception, with 154 songs registered under his name as a writer as of last March, making him the seventh highest credited K-pop artist in the Korea Music Copyright Association (Komca).
