KOFA's Cinematheque in Seoul Presents a Retrospective of 14 Noteworthy Independent Films

The Korean Film Archive (KOFA) is currently featuring a selection of 14 highly regarded independent films released between December 2022 and November 2023. The screenings are taking place at KOFA's Cinematheque theater in Mapo-gu, Seoul.

This cinematic event serves as a comprehensive wrap-up of the indie film scene for the current year, offering audiences an opportunity to revisit and appreciate the standout independent films of 2022-2023.

"Archaeology of Love" - Director: Lee Wan-min
"Hail to Hell" - Director: Lim Oh-jeong
"A Tour Guide" - Director: Kwak Eun-mi
"Dream Palace" - Director: Ka Sung-moon
"The Fifth Thoracic Vertebra" - Director: Park Se-young
"Mother Land" - Director: Park Jae-beom
"Through My Midwinter" - Director: Oh Seong-ho
"A Wild Roomer" - Director: Lee Jeong-hong
"Free Cheol Soo Lee" - Directors: Ha Julie and Lee Seong-min
"Sura: A Love Song" - Director: Hwang Yun
"Sprinter" - Director: Choi Seung-yeon
"Queer My Friends" - Director: Seo Ah-hyun
"Notes From Unknown" - Directors: Kim Ahyun and Gwon Hajeong
Notably, "The Hill of Secrets" received the Best Rookie Director award at the 2023 Buil Film Awards, and "Mother Land" secured the Expected Director award at the 2023 Daejong Film Awards.

Reservations for the screenings can be made online through KOFA's official website. The screenings will continue until January 20, providing audiences with an opportunity to engage with and enjoy these acclaimed independent films.
