The recently announced nominations for the 66th Grammy Awards did not include any K-pop artists, marking a departure from the presence of boy band BTS in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category from 2020 to 2022.
Despite BTS's absence, individual members of the group, including V and Jungkook, achieved notable success with their solo releases. V's "Layover" surpassed 2 million copies in sales, while Jungkook's "Seven" secured the top spot on July's Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Notably, BTS did not release a group album in the current year due to various members fulfilling military service obligations. The Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category, where BTS had previously earned nominations, now features artists such as Miley Cyrus, Lana Del Rey, Labrinth, Taylor Swift, and SZA.
The Record of the Year category includes nominees Jon Batiste, boygenius, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Victoria Monét, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, and SZA.
For a comprehensive list of all nominations, interested parties can refer to the official Grammy Awards website.
