CGV Revives Byeon Woo-seok’s Debut Film "Soulmate" Amid Rising Popularity

Screening to Coincide with Success of TV Series "Lovely Runner"

Byeon portrays Ha-eun’s first love, Jin-woo, whose warm-hearted charm captivates both Mi-so and Ha-eun.
The film is a Korean adaptation of the 2016 Chinese film of the same title directed by Derek Tsang and starring Sandra Ma. "Soulmate" gained attention for featuring rising stars Kim Da-mi, known for “Itaewon Class,” and Jeon So-nee, known for “Encounter,” and attracted approximately 240,000 admissions upon its initial release.
“We have scheduled this special screening after receiving numerous requests from fans eager to see Byeon’s debut film in theaters. Some locations have already experienced sell-outs,” stated a CGV official.

In response to the surging popularity of the TV series “Lovely Runner” and its lead actor Byeon Woo-seok, the local multiplex chain CGV is re-releasing Byeon’s debut film “Soulmate.” Starting Friday, the film will be shown in 21 CGV cinemas nationwide, with a special edition movie poster available to early attendees.
An additional 14 CGV theaters, including locations in Gangneung, Mokpo, and Jeju, will begin screening “Soulmate” on Saturday.
