Annabel Law has never followed the conventional path that most Singaporeans take. At just 16 years old, she became one of Singapore's first female photographers in the wedding industry, setting the stage for what would become a remarkable entrepreneurial journey. Her story is one of overcoming educational challenges and turning a teenage passion into professional success.

Law's educational journey was far from typical. She dropped out of school at age 10 due to dyscalculia, a learning disorder that affects mathematical understanding, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Instead of attending traditional school, she was homeschooled and never experienced the standard Singaporean educational milestones that most of her peers went through, including the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE), O-level, or A-level examinations.

Despite these early challenges, Law discovered her calling in photography during her teenage years. At 16, she made the bold decision to enter the wedding photography industry, a field that was predominantly male-dominated at the time. Her entry into this competitive market as a young female photographer was groundbreaking, as she became one of the first women to establish herself in Singapore's wedding photography scene.

Her dedication to her craft and entrepreneurial spirit eventually led to the founding of Annabel Law Productions, her own photography business. Law's commitment to excellence in photography has been recognized by the industry, culminating in her being named a Canon EOS Master in 2023. This prestigious recognition acknowledges her technical expertise and artistic vision in the field of photography.

Law's story demonstrates how discovering one's passion early in life can lead to extraordinary achievements, even when traditional educational paths don't work out. Her journey from a homeschooled teenager with learning challenges to a recognized master photographer and successful business owner serves as an inspiration for young entrepreneurs who may not fit the conventional mold. Her success in breaking gender barriers in the wedding photography industry has also paved the way for other women to enter and thrive in this creative field.
