Vietnamese architecture firm MyAn Architects has completed Touch House, a 476-square-meter residential project that exemplifies thoughtful design for multigenerational living. Completed in 2024, the house was designed by lead architect Tran Thien Sinh with a design team including Nguyen Thuy Thien An and technical support from Tran Thien Khien. The project was photographed by Oki Hiroyuki and features interior design by Weedkend Decor.
The architectural concept behind Touch House centers on creating a space where three generations can coexist while maintaining individual privacy and fostering emotional connections. According to the architects, the project embodies the philosophy that "a house is not just a place to live, but a space where emotions can bloom." This approach guided the design process, resulting in a home that balances communal living with personal space requirements.
The design team at MyAn Architects, who also handled the landscape architecture for the project, focused on creating an environment that would facilitate deep connections between family members across different generations. The house serves as more than just a functional living space – it acts as an emotional catalyst where relationships can develop and strengthen naturally. The architectural layout reflects this intention through carefully planned spaces that encourage interaction while respecting the need for privacy.
Located in Vietnam, Touch House represents a contemporary interpretation of traditional family living arrangements common in Asian cultures. The project demonstrates how modern architectural principles can be applied to age-old concepts of extended family cohabitation. The 476-square-meter space was meticulously planned to accommodate the varying needs and lifestyles of three generations under one roof, from young children to elderly grandparents.
The completion of Touch House in 2024 marks another significant contribution to Vietnam's evolving residential architecture landscape. The project showcases MyAn Architects' ability to create spaces that are both functionally efficient and emotionally resonant, setting a new standard for multigenerational housing design in the region. The house stands as a testament to the firm's commitment to creating architecture that serves not just physical needs but also nurtures human relationships and emotional well-being.
