Korean Ambassador Attends ASEAN+3 Film Festival Opening Ceremony in Prague

Ambassador Young-ki Hong represented South Korea at the opening ceremony of the ASEAN+3 Film Festival 2025, which took place on Wednesday, September 3rd at the Prague Municipal Library. The festival brings together cinematic works from nine countries across Asia and marks an important cultural exchange initiative in the Czech Republic.
During the opening ceremony, the Korean short film "Jinju Hair Salon" was screened for international audiences and garnered highly positive feedback from attendees. The ASEAN+3 Film Festival 2025 showcases diverse cinematic productions from six ASEAN member states, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. The festival format also incorporates films from the "Plus Three" countries - South Korea, China, and Japan - creating a comprehensive platform for East Asian and Southeast Asian cinema.
The film festival is scheduled to run through September 10th at the Prague Municipal Library, providing Czech audiences with an extended opportunity to experience the rich diversity of Asian cinema. This cultural event strengthens diplomatic and artistic ties between the participating nations while promoting cross-cultural understanding through the medium of film.
