BigHit Music Announces Initiation of Enlistment Process

RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook of BTS are taking steps to commence their mandatory military service, according to an announcement from the group's agency, BigHit Music, on Wednesday. The decision follows the example of their three bandmates, Jin, J-Hope, and Suga, who are already fulfilling their military duties. 

▲ Courtesy of Big Hit MusicIn adherence to South Korea's conscription laws, all able-bodied men are obligated to serve in the military for approximately two years. The quartet—RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook—were granted the option to delay their military service until the year they turn 30, as per a conscription law revision in 2020.

BigHit Music stated that updates on the enlistment process will be provided as soon as they are finalized. If the members choose to forego the postponement, similar to their fellow bandmates, they will enlist upon receiving notification from the military. Enlistment for RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook is anticipated to take place by the end of this year or early next year at the latest.

BTS aims to reunite as a group in 2025, once all members have completed their mandatory military service. The agency expressed gratitude for continued support and urged fans to continue loving and supporting RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook throughout their military service period.
