HOFA Gallery (House of Fine Art) visits Korean art market for the first time to participate in Kiaf Plus at SETEC.
HOFA specializes in the work of established artists as well as contemporary art embodied by emerging international artists. and they have galleries at London, Los Angeles and Mykonos.
The booth of HOFA, in hall C, caught many visitors attention. Especially, the big size artwork of Ilhwa Kim was the most loved one by people. Kim is the Korean artist known as ‘seed series’. Each of her works consists of tens of thousands of seed units. To create seed units, Kim hand-dyed each sheet of Korean paper with thousands of colors, and cut the paper layer by layer and rolled it tightly. Ilhwa Kim’s complex and three-dimensional works show the viewer another universe.
HOFA also exhibits artworks of Eser Gündüz, Jan Kaláb, Mark Posey, Mary Ronayne and En Iwamura.
“Our curator Simonida Pavicevic, also one of our Co-Founder, she chose the artist of Kiaf PLUS based on what sells the best price in this region. So HOFA chose some artists which are based in the the part of the country. And also their are other artists with happy subjects and bright colors. Furthermore, we always trying to represent diversity from all countries and do not discriminate the gender,” said Francesco Marchiaro the marketing director of HOFA.
“We are very exciting because it is our first time in Korea which is the big market in Asia. We are looking forward to expanding art collectors market in here,” he added.
