Realrich Architecture Workshop has completed Kampoong Guha, an ambitious mixed-use architectural project located in Tangerang, Indonesia. The 800-square-meter complex, finished in 2025, represents a comprehensive approach to community-centered design that integrates multiple functions under one cohesive architectural vision.
The project houses the OMAH Library, which serves as both a children's and public library, alongside the Realrich Architecture Workshop Studio itself. The complex also features a co-working space, a workshop hall, and home education classrooms, creating a dynamic environment for learning and collaboration. Additionally, the development includes an architect's residence with a boarding house specifically designed for designers, fostering a live-work community atmosphere.
Lead architect Realrich Sjarief oversaw the project with support from an extensive team of professionals. The design team included Aep Saepuloh, Eddy Bachtiar, and Amud, while the analytic team responsible for climatic assessment comprised Aditya Kosman, Alya Hasna Rizky Riandita, and Prasetyo Adi Nugroho. The construction was managed by Singgih Suryanto, who also served as the general contractor, with supervision provided by Sudjatmiko.
The architectural approach emphasizes the integration of various building functions while maintaining distinct identities for each program. The complex utilizes wood and concrete as primary materials, creating a warm yet durable aesthetic that responds to the local climate and cultural context. The design reflects contemporary Indonesian architecture while incorporating sustainable design principles.
The project involved multiple specialized consultants and contractors, including DOT Workshop, which provided structural engineering, landscape architecture, lighting design, acoustic consulting, environmental and sustainability consulting, contracting services, project management, and quantity surveying. This comprehensive approach ensured that all aspects of the complex were carefully coordinated and executed to high standards.
Photography of the completed project was captured by LuLuil Manun, Kie Arch, and Aryo Phramudhito, documenting the successful realization of this multifunctional architectural vision. The mechanical and electrical systems were handled by specialists including Bambang Priyono, Andi, Karim, and Hamim, while master carpenter Syarifuddin Pudin contributed to the project's detailed craftsmanship.
Kampoong Guha stands as an example of how contemporary architecture can serve multiple community needs while maintaining architectural coherence. The project demonstrates the potential for mixed-use developments to create vibrant, multifunctional spaces that support both professional activities and community engagement in rapidly developing urban areas of Indonesia.
