Kim Nam-joo, member of the K-pop group Apink, has returned to the music scene as a solo artist with the release of her second solo single album titled "Bad." This marks her first solo release in four years.
During a press conference held in Seoul on the day of the album's release, Kim stated that she considers this album as her debut as a solo artist, emphasizing an "extreme makeover" in her image. Transitioning from her previous feminine persona, Kim now portrays a fearless warrior.
The three-track single album is led by the titular track, "Bad," which Kim describes as a reflection of her true self, unswayed by external opinions.
Kim commenced work on the album after concluding promotions for Apink's 10th EP, "Self," in April last year. This album marks her first release under her new agency, Choi Creative Lab.
Amidst her solo activities, Kim revealed that Apink is concurrently working on a new album set for release within the year.
To promote her new release, Kim will be performing on local TV music shows over the next two weeks and plans to engage with both domestic and international fans through various events.
Expressing her aspirations to establish herself as a solo artist, Kim highlighted her active involvement in the album's preparation, from song selection to conceptualization.
With a focus on showcasing her individuality, Kim aims to carve out her own artistic identity through this new endeavor.
