The comedy series set in a psychiatric ward features Park Bo-young, Lee Jung-eun, Yeon Woo-jin, and Jang Dong-yoon

Director Lee Jae-gyu, known for his recent work on "All of Us Are Dead," is back with a new Netflix original series titled "Daily Dose of Sunshine." The series is set in a psychiatric ward and explores modern-day issues related to mental illnesses.

The series stars Park Bo-young as a kind-hearted nurse working in the psychiatric ward, where she interacts with a diverse group of patients and colleagues. Lee Jung-eun, known for her roles in "Parasite" and "Our Blues," appears as a head nurse supporting Park Bo-young's character. Yeon Woo-jin portrays Go-yoon, a doctor specializing in proctologic surgery, while Jang Dong-yoon plays Yoo-chan, a close friend of Park Bo-young's character who leaves his job due to personal struggles.

Based on the novel of the same title by author Lee Ra-ha, who has experience as a psychiatric nurse, "Daily Dose of Sunshine" has been a long-cherished project for Director Lee. He expressed his intention to convey the warmth of human interactions and the purity found in the novel.

The series addresses the stigma surrounding mental illnesses and aims to provide comfort to viewers in a world where discussing such conditions can be challenging.

The cast members visited the Catholic University of Korea Seoul St. Mary's Hospital to gain insights into the daily routines of doctors and nurses in a psychiatric ward. They observed how patients are treated and spent time with medical professionals for consultations. The goal was to accurately portray the medical aspects of the series.

Lee Jung-eun noted that "Daily Dose of Sunshine" has the potential to reduce societal barriers for individuals dealing with mental illnesses, encouraging them to seek help and support.

Jang Dong-yoon highlighted the importance of the series in offering courage and solace to those facing personal struggles.

Yeon Woo-jin shared that working on the series had a positive impact on his perspective, making him appreciate life more and accept himself as he is.

Director Lee described "Daily Dose of Sunshine" as a heartwarming tale for modern adults, designed with warm and inviting visuals.

The series is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on November 3.
