The impact of the endemic, the volume of exhibition ticket sales increased
The number of visitors to exhibitions is 75.3% for women and 24.7% for men, and the proportion of male visitors increased slightly (+3.4p) than last year.
We can analyze through this report that the art market in Korea is expanding continuously.
The most-popular exhibition in terms of ticket sales, is ‘A Collector’s Invitation: The First Anniversary of Lee Kun-hee’s Bequest’. This exhibition is the unveiling of Late Lee Kun-hee’s massive art collection. Tickets are already sold out until the last day of the exhibition, due to its popularity.
And in this order, ‘The World of Tim Burton’, ‘Salvador Dali: Imagination and Reality’, ‘Accidently Wes Anderson’ and ‘RED ROOM : Love is in the Air’ are the most popular exhibitions after Lee’s collection. In particular, more than half of the 15 popular exhibitions were painting exhibitions. This rate shows exhibitions of masterpieces is loved by visitors.
“As the endemic begins, more customers visit the exhibition hall, and the exhibition business continues to grow. we plan to present many famous exhibitions in the second half of the year,” said Interpark.
Interpark, which is a ticket-booking company based in Korea, reported the exhibition trend of the first half of the year in Korea.
Interpark analyzed the volume of exhibition ticket sales through their own site, from January to June.
