In an upcoming film directed by Kwon Hyeok-jae, Song Hye-kyo, acclaimed for her role in "The Glory" (2022), is set to make her return to the Korean silver screen after a 10-year hiatus. Joining her in this venture are co-stars Jeon Yeo-been, Lee Jin-wook, and Huh Joon-ho, as announced by the film's production company and distributor, Next Entertainment World (NEW). The yet-to-be-titled standalone sequel to "The Priests" (2015) is scheduled to commence shooting in late February.
Song Hye-kyo's last Korean film appearance was in "My Brilliant Life" (2014). During the interim, she participated in the "The Crossing" Chinese movie series and took on notable roles in television dramas such as "Descendants of the Sun" (2016), "Encounter" (2018-19), and "The Glory" (2022-23).
Directed by Jang Jae-hyun, "The Priests" (2015) centered around priests played by Gang Dong-won and Kim Yoon-seok as they endeavored to exorcise an evil spirit from a young girl named Park So-dam. The film received both critical acclaim and commercial success.
