Albin Panisset, a 26-year-old photographer from the Jura region of France, has successfully launched his first self-published photography book and is currently showcasing his work at the Haut-Jura Saint-Claude media library in Saint-Lupicin. The exhibition, featuring a dozen stunning photographs of natural light phenomena in the Jura mountains, will run until January 15, 2026, with the artist scheduled to appear for book signings on Saturday, December 6.

The displayed photographs are selections from Panisset's latest book titled "Lumières furtives" (Fleeting Lights), a comprehensive 128-page volume showcasing his specialty in storm photography. This end-of-year release invites readers into the sensitive and ever-changing world of his beloved Jura mountains, capturing the ephemeral beauty of natural light phenomena.

The book launch event took place on Wednesday evening, November 26, 2025, drawing approximately thirty attendees who came to meet the author and purchase signed copies of his work. The publication features more than 90 photographs, some previously unpublished, complete with captions and accompanying narratives organized into five distinct chapters. These images reveal the beauty, resilience, and authenticity of nature in its wild state.

"This is an exhibition to discover and pay tribute to the Jura and its lights," Panisset explained. He described the book as the culmination of more than five years of expeditions throughout the Jura mountains, dedicated to capturing ephemeral lights, moods, and fleeting atmospheres. "It's essentially a collection of this long body of work," he added.

The book's publication represents a significant personal and professional milestone for Panisset, who has been working independently as a photographer while pursuing his dream of making photography his career. The self-publishing venture became possible through a successful pre-order crowdfunding campaign that he launched on September 1, 2025.

Within just two months, the campaign successfully raised the necessary 8,900 euros to produce 750 copies of the book, priced at 39 euros each. This achievement represents both a personal triumph for the young photographer and a strong vote of confidence from his supporters and the photography community.

"Lumières furtives" is now available in quality bookstores throughout the Jura region and beyond, as well as at the media library in Panisset's home village. The storm photography specialist will be present at the Saint-Lupicin media library on Saturday afternoon, December 6, for additional book sales and signing sessions, providing another opportunity for photography enthusiasts and supporters to meet the artist and acquire his work.
