CJ Cultural Foundation is currently accepting submissions from aspiring artists as part of its annual contest aimed at assisting their entry into the entertainment market. The initiative focuses on supporting creators in marginalized sectors, encompassing independent musicians, short film directors, and musical creators.
For the "Tune Up" program, CJ Cultural Foundation is inviting music files or videos from aspiring music makers until March 20. Submissions can be made through the foundation's official website, www.cjazit.org. The selected six musicians, to be announced on May 27, will receive grants of up to 25 million won ($18,700) each, directed towards album production. Additionally, they will receive support to participate in international festivals, including KCON. In the previous year, CJ Cultural Foundation granted 15 million won each to the six winners.
Aspiring short film producers can submit applications for the "Story Up" program until March 4, with final selections set to be announced on April 18. The foundation will provide a production budget of up to 20 million won for the six winners, along with one-on-one mentoring from film directors. Assistance will also be extended for submitting works to both domestic and international film festivals.
"Stage Up" is open for applications from creators of theatrical performances, such as stage plays and musicals, until March 11. Submission of synopses, scripts, and detailed information, including character introductions, can be done through the official site for CJ Cultural Foundation. The final announcement for selected works will be on April 24, with three chosen creators each receiving 10 million won. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to be matched with producers for production assistance.
CJ Cultural Foundation emphasizes the increased support for creators with potential, aiming to facilitate their quick entry into the market, amid the diversification of cultural platforms and the growing demand for K-content.
