Les Douches la Galerie has announced the publication of a new book titled "Ray K. Metzker, City Lux," published by Ludion Editions. The book release coincides with a comprehensive exhibition at the gallery that will run through October 25, 2025.

The exhibition and accompanying publication explore two central themes that defined Metzker's artistic vision: life and light, and the city illuminated. These concepts hold particular resonance within the intense and singular body of work created by Ray K. Metzker, an American photographer who developed an early emotional affinity for urban spaces.

Metzker's distinctive photographic style captured the geometric cuts and divisions of city architecture, along with the dramatic interplay between brilliant white highlights and deep black planes that characterize urban lighting. His work demonstrates a masterful understanding of how light transforms metropolitan environments, creating visual poetry from the everyday urban landscape.
