Following the death of actor Lee Sun-kyun on Wednesday, his agency, Hodu&U Entertainment, issued a press release on Thursday, urging the media to refrain from making "painful and abrupt" visitations to the late actor's house, agency office, and funeral. The agency expressed concern over the intrusion of certain media outlets and YouTubers, noting the unbearable and brutal impact on the surviving family and colleagues during this difficult time.
The late actor, known for his role in "Parasite," was found dead inside a car in Seoul at the age of 48. Lee Sun-kyun was undergoing a police investigation related to suspicions of drug use.
In the aftermath of Lee Sun-kyun's passing, the premiere of the film "Mission: Cross," starring Lee's wife, actor Jeon Hye-jin, was delayed, according to the film's distributor Plus M Entertainment. The original February release date is now pending an announcement of the new premiere date.
Reports suggest that the release dates of Lee Sun-kyun's posthumous works, including "The Land of Happiness" and "Project Silence," may be subject to changes. CJ ENM, the distributor of "Project Silence," stated that no decision had been made regarding the film's release date. The distributor Next Entertainment World mentioned that "The Land of Happiness" is currently in the post-production stage, and discussions about its release date are not underway at this time.
