Born in 1972, Seulgi Lee is a Korean artist who relocated to Paris more than two decades ago. Her artistic exploration centers on a physical language of forms, drawing inspiration from folklore while maintaining a contemporary essence. Lee's distinctive approach is characterized by a consistent use of color, expressive gestures, simple yet refined forms, and performance elements. Despite her affinity for bright and cheerful colors, Lee describes her sculptural practice as utilitarian, emphasizing its direct connection to the body's power, fragility, and contingency.
