A group exhibition is currently on view at Gallery Choi until August 25. The exhibition introduces over 50 works by 22 emerging young artists under the theme of 'Youth'.
Due to two years of the pandemic era, social gatherings and cultural communication seem to have vanished. The exhibition intends to rekindle the vitality in culture from youthful energy.
Each artist expresses their own 'Youth' by using various techniques and colors.
Artist Kim Kyung Min paints places that will never disappear in his memory 'Neverland series,' to find eternity in a rapidly changing world to express something that can’t feel but can feel after time.
Adults lose the innocence, imagination, and dreams they once had when they were younger.
Ryu Ah Young artist paints children, nature, and forest to express inner purity that adults had before.
All emerging artists between the ages of 20 and 30 were chosen by Gallery Choi through social media. Twenty-two artists were chosen from among many to represent the meaning of 2022. They came from all over to congregate in this particular district "Mapo."
Mapo district is where Gallery Choi is located. It is close to Hongdae, Sangsu, Hapjung area which young artists have revered for a long time.
The gallery hopes visitors to feel the stories of 22 young artists in this location.
