Illit, a K-pop girl group, has reached 100 million streams in Japan with their debut single “Magnetic,” as reported by their agency Belift Lab on Wednesday, citing data from the Oricon chart.
The milestone was achieved with the lead track from their debut extended play, “Super Real Me,” making Illit the fastest girl group to reach this figure according to the Japanese chart. “Magnetic,” released in March, has also recorded 200 million plays on Spotify as of last month, setting a new record for a debut song by a K-pop girl group.
In addition to their success in Japan, Illit has achieved notable milestones in the United States and the United Kingdom. “Magnetic” debuted at No. 91 on the Billboard Hot 100, while their EP “Super Real Me” entered the Billboard 200 at No. 93 three weeks after its release. The single also appeared on the UK’s Official Singles Chart, landing at No. 80.
