Stray Kids, the South Korean boy band, has earned a gold certification in France for their eighth extended play, “Rock Star,” according to an announcement from their label, JYP Entertainment, on Wednesday. The certification is based on data from the French recording industry organization, SNEP.
The EP, which has surpassed 50,000 units sold in France as of last week, marks the group's second album to receive a gold certification, following their third studio album “Five-Star.” “Rock Star” also ranked No. 135 on SNEP's top 200 albums chart for 2023 in January, while “Five-Star” reached No. 52, the highest position for a K-pop artist on that chart.
Released in November of the previous year, “Rock Star” debuted at the top of the Billboard 200, making it Stray Kids’ fourth consecutive album to achieve this position. The album's lead single, “Lalalala,” entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 90, marking the group's first appearance on that chart.
Stray Kids is expected to release a new album next month.
