NewJeans and Silica Gel Lead with Three Awards Each, Beenzino Takes Album of the Year

The band was also honored with Musician of the Year and Best Modern Rock Album for the releases "Machine Boy" and "Tik Tak Tok," both recognized for their artistic value and uniqueness, having debuted in April and August the previous year.
Beenzino's victory marked a significant moment as he became the first hip-hop artist in eight years to secure the Album of the Year accolade. His success extended to the Best Rap & Hip-Hop Album category with the same album.
In the category of Rookie of the Year, the four-member multinational girl group Kiss of Life emerged as the recipient of the coveted trophy.

The recently concluded 21st Korean Music Awards unveiled K-pop girl group NewJeans and rock band Silica Gel as the frontrunners, both securing three awards each. Rapper Beenzino claimed the coveted Album of the Year title with "Nowitzki."
The awards ceremony took place at Prism Studio in southern Seoul on Thursday. NewJeans dominated the night, securing Song of the Year and Best K-pop Song for "Ditto." The group also clinched the Best K-pop Album prize for "Get Up." Notably, NewJeans had previously won three awards the year before, including Rookie of the Year, Best K-pop Album, and Best K-pop Song.
