Kep1er will continue as a seven-member group, according to a local media report on Thursday.
The group, which debuted in January 2022 with members from the audition show “Girls Planet 999: Girls Saga,” was initially set to disband in July. However, seven members have renewed their contracts, making Kep1er the first idol group launched through such a program in Korea to extend its activities.
Members Kang Yeseo and Mashiro are expected to return to their original agency and join another girl group, Limelight. However, their management firm 143 Entertainment stated that discussions are still ongoing regarding their future with Kep1er.
Kep1er will release their first full album, "Kep1going On," on June 3, featuring 10 tracks, including the main track “Shooting Star.” Additionally, their first LP in Japan, "Kep1going," was released last week and topped Billboard Japan’s album sales chart.
