In an electrifying celebration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between South Korea and Indonesia, K-pop powerhouse SM Entertainment has announced the highly anticipated "SM TOWN LIVE 2023" concert. Taking place at Jakarta's Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium on September 23, the event marks a momentous return to in-person concerts after nearly 11 years for the iconic entertainment label.
Throngs of enthusiastic fans in Jakarta will be treated to an extraordinary showcase featuring a stellar lineup of SM artists. The star-studded roster includes revered acts such as TVXQ, Super Junior, Red Velvet, NCT 127, NCT DREAM, WayV, and aespa, set to take the stage and mesmerize audiences with their unparalleled performances. Additionally, a new boy band, scheduled to make their debut in September, is primed to make their first-ever appearance in the Southeast Asian country. Comprising former NCT members Sungchan and Shotaro, along with SM idol trainees Eunseok and Seunghan, and singer-songwriter Yoon Sang's son, Lee Chan-young, among others, the new group promises to captivate hearts with their fresh talent and boundless potential.
SM Entertainment, renowned for nurturing global K-pop sensations, expressed the significance of this momentous event, emphasizing its commitment to fostering cultural exchange and strengthening ties between the two countries. The concert holds special significance as it coincides with the landmark 50-year milestone in Korea-Indonesia diplomatic relations.
Notably, the event is made possible through sponsorship from Korea's KB Kookmin Bank and its Indonesian subsidiary PT Bank KB Bukopin Tbk. To extend an exclusive experience to fans, those utilizing credit cards issued by PT Bank KB Bukopin Tbk will enjoy priority booking of tickets in advance starting August 9.
The "SM TOWN LIVE" concert series, initiated in 2008, has continually enchanted audiences worldwide, culminating in a resounding success with 150,000 fans gathering in Tokyo, Japan, last August. Now, with the grand return of an in-person concert in Jakarta, fans eagerly anticipate an unforgettable night of music, performances, and cultural harmony, making "SM TOWN LIVE 2023" an emblematic celebration of the indomitable spirit of K-pop and its power to unite hearts across borders.
