A Look at Lee Young-ae's Return to the Small Screen in "Maestra," a Korean Remake of the French Series "Philharmonia"

Renowned South Korean actress Lee Young-ae has been confirmed to take on the lead role in tvN's upcoming drama series, "Maestra," a Korean remake of the 2019 French series, "Philharmonia." This will mark Lee's first small screen project since her action-packed performance in the 2021 series, "Inspector Koo."

The network recently announced the rest of the cast, including Lee Moo-saeng, Park Ho-san, Kim Young-jae, and Hwang Bo-reum-byeol. The upcoming series is set to revolve around a secretive female conductor named Cha Se-um, portrayed by Lee Young-ae. Cha is a world-renowned conductor, widely acclaimed for her skills, and as she digs deeper into the mystery within her orchestra, The Hangang Philharmonic, she faces the secrets that will shake her life.

Lee will take on the role of investor Yoo Jung-jae, who is also the president of a financial company. Hwang, on the other hand, will play the role of a rookie member of the orchestra, Lee Lu-na, who is determined to prove her abilities despite her inexperience. Kim will play Cha's husband, Kim Pill, who appears considerate but secretly envies his wife's success. Meanwhile, Park will portray Jeon Sang-do, the orchestra's primary stakeholder who leads the ensemble with true passion and love for music.

"Maestra" is expected to showcase a new side of Lee Young-ae, who is known for her captivating performances in various dramas and films throughout her career. The actress has become one of the most recognized faces in South Korea's entertainment industry, having gained widespread popularity with her iconic role in the historical drama series, "Dae Jang Geum" (2003).

The drama series is set to delve into the world of classical music, exploring the dynamics and relationships within a professional orchestra, and the challenges that come with pursuing excellence in the competitive music industry. As the show's premiere draws closer, fans of Lee Young-ae and K-dramas are eagerly anticipating the actress's return to the small screen.

"Maestra" is scheduled to air on tvN later this year, with the exact premiere date yet to be announced.
