According to agency Ador, K-pop group NewJeans reached a significant milestone on Spotify, amassing 500 million plays for their track "Hype Boy" as of Saturday. This achievement marks the group's third song to reach such a milestone, following the success of "OMG" and "Ditto." "Hype Boy" is one of the title tracks from NewJeans' debut EP released in August 2022, which garnered widespread attention within the music industry upon its release. Notably, "Hype Boy" became the group's first single to achieve a 200-million milestone on the platform.
In a separate development, NewJeans' music video for the track "ETA" received recognition at Spikes Asia, winning the bronze award at the esteemed creative advertising festival in the Asia Pacific region. "ETA" is a B-side track from the group's second EP, "Get Up," released in July of the previous year. Remarkably, the music video for "ETA" was filmed entirely using an iPhone, as part of Apple's "Shot on iPhone" campaign. Additionally, a Coca-Cola commercial featuring NewJeans was shortlisted for an award at the same festival.
