Summer brings an exciting lineup of photography exhibitions, workshops, and cultural events across Europe and beyond, offering photography enthusiasts diverse opportunities to explore the art form through various lenses and perspectives.
One of the most anticipated events is "The Art of Storytelling: Reportage, Series, Essay" workshop with renowned photographer Gerd Ludwig, taking place in Nagasaki, Japan from September 27th to October 9th, 2025. This intensive program, hosted by Nobechi Creative, will focus on advanced techniques in photojournalism and documentary photography, providing participants with hands-on experience in one of Japan's most historically significant cities.
France will host the inaugural Dora Maar Film Festival, a new celebration dedicated to arts documentaries in the picturesque region of Provence. Scheduled from August 29th to August 31st, 2025, this three-day festival will take place at two venues: Hôtel du Tingry and Le Domaine du Fortin in Ménerbes. The festival aims to showcase the intersection of photography and cinema through documentary films exploring various artistic disciplines.
Paris art lovers can look forward to the Bruno Sassarone exhibition at Galerie Arnoux, located at 27 rue Guénégaud in the 6th arrondissement. Running from November 12th to November 22nd, 2025, this solo show will present Sassarone's distinctive photographic work, offering visitors an intimate look at his artistic vision and technical mastery.
London's photography scene will feature "Grace and Fire," a compelling exhibition by Gérard Uféras at Kulturalis gallery. Located at 14 Old Queen Street, London SW1H 9HP, this month-long exhibition will run throughout August 2025, from the 1st to the 31st. The show promises to display Uféras's dynamic approach to capturing both elegance and intensity in his photographic subjects.
Meanwhile, in southern France, IRIS ARLES will present work by photographer David Meskhi from July 5th to August 17th, 2025. The exhibition, housed at 4 rue Croix Rouge in Arles, continues the city's rich tradition of supporting contemporary photography and providing a platform for emerging and established artists to showcase their work to an international audience.
