Korean boy group BTOB has released their 12th mini-album, "Wind and Wish," hoping to bring luck and happiness to listeners. The album marks their return after a 14-month hiatus, with their last full-length album "Be Together" released in 2020.
The album, produced by members Hyunsik and Minhyuk, features five tracks, including the titular track "Wind and Wish" and four side tracks. The dance ballad titular track expresses a wish for the happiness of loved ones.
At a press conference in Seoul, the group's leader Eunkwang said, "We want to spread love, hope, and luck with this album." Hyunsik added, "I hope that these tracks can have a positive influence on the listeners. Just like the name of the album, I hope many wishes can come true."
BTOB has always been known for their vocal abilities, and the members' distinct musical characteristics are well conveyed in the titular track. "I think BTOB itself has become a genre. This is BTOB’s ballad, BTOB’s dance song, BTOB’s everything," said Hyunsik.
BTOB aims to expand its reach overseas with this album. "We hope to make it to the global market as a representative K-pop dance ballad group. That is the goal we want to accomplish with this album, to make people abroad tune into our K-pop dance ballad tracks," said Sungjae.
BTOB, a veteran K-pop group, has been active since 2012 and is known for its New Jack Swing music. They have included a fan song called "Day&Night" in the album for their fandom, Melody, expressing their love and gratitude towards them.
