JYP Entertainment, one of South Korea's leading entertainment companies, is set to debut its first Japan-focused boy band through the much-anticipated second season of "Nizi Project."
Originating in 2019, "Nizi Project" is a collaborative venture between JYP Entertainment and Japan's Nippon TV, aimed at discovering and nurturing talented individuals for idol group auditions. The inaugural season of "Nizi Project," which aired in 2020, gave rise to the nine-member girl group NiziU, which swiftly achieved nationwide popularity in Japan after its debut in July of the same year.
The recently released teaser video ahead of the first episode, scheduled for release this Friday, features Park Jin-young, widely known as JYP, once again occupying the mentor seat and providing insightful commentary to the "Nizi Project" participants. As the founder and chief creative officer of JYP Entertainment, Park's expertise and guidance have played a significant role in shaping successful idol groups.
Throughout an extensive audition process conducted in multiple cities across Japan, the United States, and Seoul, the agency reported an overwhelming response, with more than 10,000 aspiring individuals submitting their applications for the show.
Fans can expect the second season of "Nizi Project" to bring thrilling performances and showcase the talent and potential of the aspiring boy band members. Episodes will be available on YouTube every Friday at 10 p.m. Korean time, commencing from this Friday, with Japanese viewers being able to enjoy the program on Hulu.
As the excitement builds for the upcoming season, JYP Entertainment's collaboration with Nippon TV promises to introduce another sensational and dynamic idol group to the world of Japanese music and entertainment.
