Former Sistar Member Returns with Summer-Oriented Album, Continuing Her Solo Success

Singer Soyou, renowned for her contributions as a former member of the beloved girl group Sistar, is set to delight fans with her highly anticipated second EP, "Summer Recipe." The announcement came from her agency, Big Planet Made Entertainment, on Friday, confirming the EP's release date as July 26. This musical offering marks Soyou's first EP release since "Day & Night" in April 2022, and follows her recent ballad single, "Farewell Everyday," released earlier this year.

A captivating teaser image, unveiled on Friday, showcased four cocktail glasses adorned with illustrations, with the EP's title, "Summer Recipe," elegantly displayed above. Although specific album details remain undisclosed, the agency tantalizingly described the release as the "return of the summer queen Soyou," hinting at an album brimming with summertime vibes and captivating melodies.

Soyou initially rose to prominence as a member of Sistar, debuting in 2010 under Starship Entertainment. Although the group disbanded in 2017 upon the expiration of their exclusive contract, Sistar remains widely recognized for their infectious summer-themed hits, including "Touch My Body" (2014), "I Swear" (2014), and "Shake It" (2015). Through her remarkable solo career, Soyou has solidified her status as a prominent artist, captivating listeners with her unique sound and captivating performances.

Her breakthrough collaboration with singer Junggigo on the chart-topping single "Some" in 2014 propelled Soyou to solo stardom. Soyou continued to make waves with her debut solo full-length album, "Re: born," released in 2017, further solidifying her position as a powerhouse soloist.

In a testament to the continued success of former Sistar members, Hyolyn, also a member of the iconic girl group, is poised to drop her highly anticipated solo track, "This Love," on Wednesday. The song is set to feature the artistry of Korean Canadian rapper Paul Blanco, captivating audiences with their unique blend of talents.
