Artist Mimi Labeyrie is currently presenting an engaging exhibition featuring approximately thirty of his works in Mellionnec this month. The exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to discover his highly original artistic approach and creative process.
"I have always been fascinated by peasantry," Labeyrie explains, reflecting on the inspiration that drives much of his artistic work. His deep connection to rural life and agricultural communities has become a defining characteristic of his artistic vision and creative output.
Labeyrie arrived in the Kreiz Breizh territory in 1981, a region he rarely leaves and has made his permanent home. As a professional artist, he has established himself as a significant cultural figure in this central Breton region, developing his craft while remaining deeply rooted in the local community.
The current exhibition in Mellionnec represents what organizers describe as a show "where there is plenty to pick from," highlighting the diversity and richness of Labeyrie's artistic portfolio. Visitors can explore the evolution of his work and gain insight into his unique perspective on rural life and the agricultural world that continues to captivate him.
