Korean football stars Son Heung-min and Kim Min-jae have sent autographed club jerseys to the Major League Baseball (MLB) club San Diego Padres as good luck presents for their games in Seoul. The jerseys, from Son's Tottenham Hotspur and Kim's Bayern Munich, were placed on every chair in front of stalls inside the Padres' clubhouse at Gocheok Sky Dome on Wednesday.
The San Diego Padres are scheduled to play the Los Angeles Dodgers in the first game of the historic Seoul Series, marking the first MLB regular season game in Korea. The second game of the series coincides with Korea's World Cup qualifying match against Thailand in Seoul.
According to a statement provided to Yonhap News Agency, the jerseys were sent directly from Son and Kim, along with their respective clubs. The Padres stated that the gesture was aimed at showing support for fellow Korean star athlete Kim Ha-seong, who is a key player for the Padres and a face of the Seoul Series.
Musgrove noted Kim's enthusiasm for playing in his hometown and appreciated the care and recommendations provided by Kim and his translator regarding Korean culture and local attractions.
