Boy band Riize, just six months into its debut, is grappling with controversy as a photo of member Anton holding hands with a woman sparked dating rumors on social media. The woman, identified as a noncelebrity friend residing in New Jersey, clarified that she and Anton have been friends since childhood, denying any romantic involvement. The user who posted the photo on Instagram explained that it was a nostalgic moment captured during Anton's visit home.

Online users also speculated about Anton's private Instagram account, criticizing the username "ilovesamsungsomuch" as potentially offensive to Koreans. Some claimed the handle reflected an "anti-Korean" stance by the foreign-born Korean artist. This controversy revived previous rumors related to Anton's father, Yoon Sang, regarding alleged draft evasion through Argentine citizenship. Yoon's Argentine citizenship, acquired in 1992, led to an investigation by the Military Manpower Administration, which was dropped when he began military service in 1993, resulting in the revocation of his Argentine citizenship.
