For nearly a year now, Bruno Dussillol has been carefully perfecting Atelier Brun, an exhibition space that this painter is determined to develop further in the coming months. Behind the black sliding gate on Michel-Montaigne Street lies a hidden treasure trove that its owner had kept somewhat confidential until now. For almost a year, Bruno Dussillol has been refining every detail to enhance his collection and create a venue that stands out in Marmande: the Brun Gallery. The name "Brun" comes from both Bruno's name and a color that holds special meaning for the artist. "You can find it throughout my works, so it was a logical name," explains the man. At 50 years old, he is beginning his second life, dedicating himself to his lifelong passion for painting. This passion first captured his attention when he was a student at the Lycée de la Compassion high school. It was there that he discovered art history and visual arts. "In a very traditional way, I was drawn to Impressionism, Expressionism, and Fauvism," he recalls. For a long time, he picked up brushes without being able to make it his profession. A motorcycle enthusiast, he sold motorcycles for thirty years and worked as a dealer for more than two decades. Dussillol describes his new art space as "my cocoon," emphasizing the personal and intimate nature of this creative sanctuary he has built. The gallery represents not just a career change but a complete transformation of his life's direction. After three decades in the motorcycle business, he has finally made the leap to pursue what has always been his true calling. The Atelier Brun showcases his dedication to bringing something unique to Marmande's cultural landscape. The space reflects his artistic journey from those early days discovering the masters of art history to developing his own distinctive style that frequently incorporates brown tones. His background in business, developed through years as a motorcycle dealer, now serves him well as he plans to expand and develop this exhibition space. The gallery stands as a testament to the belief that it's never too late to follow one's artistic dreams and create something meaningful for the community.
