Doyoung, a member of the K-pop group NCT, is reported to be releasing his first solo album in April, as disclosed by local media on Monday. He will join fellow NCT members Taeyong and Ten in venturing into solo projects.
Debuting as the main vocalist of NCT U in 2016, Doyoung has long been anticipated to release a solo album, with expectations heightened since the first half of this month. Prior to this solo debut, he has showcased his vocal prowess in solo tracks for the band's project releases and has contributed to various original soundtracks for both Korean and Japanese dramas.
Doyoung is also a part of NCT Dojaejung, the first subunit within the band to feature fixed members. The trio, consisting of Doyoung, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo, released their first EP titled "Perfume" in April of the previous year, achieving notable success by selling over 670,000 copies and setting a first-week sales record for a K-pop unit.
Meanwhile, NCT 127, another subunit that includes Doyoung, recently concluded its second "dome tour" in Japan over the weekend. The tour, held in Nagoya, Osaka, and Tokyo, attracted a total audience of approximately 260,000 attendees.
