Netflix's reality show "Physical 100" returned with Season 2, presenting another round of physically demanding survival challenges to its 100 competitors. The show, which evaluates contestants' physiques through rigorous challenges, gained global attention following its debut last year.
Season 2, which recently concluded, received widespread popularity, topping Netflix's non-English TV show streaming chart upon its release in March. The final episode revealed Amotti, also known as Kim Jae-hong, as the winner, defeating former rugby player Andre Jin Coquillard and firefighter-turned-YouTuber Hong Beom-seok in the semi-final and final rounds, respectively.
Amotti expressed gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the show and reflected on his journey during an interview with The Korea Times. He emphasized his surprise at winning and the impact of the experience on his life.
The show's creator and producer, Jang Ho-gi, acknowledged the pressure of maintaining the show's success while introducing new elements in Season 2. He aimed to strike a balance between familiar elements and fresh content to satisfy both existing fans and newcomers.
Notably, Hong Beom-seok, eliminated early in Season 1, returned to challenge himself once again and made it to the semi-finals, showcasing his resilience and growth.
The season finale hinted at a potential third season, with Jang discussing plans for a new format and the inclusion of participants from Asian regions to broaden the show's international appeal.
While details for Season 3 are yet to be finalized, discussions are underway to introduce fresh content and potentially bring back contestants from previous seasons to showcase different aspects of their journey.
