Renowned painter Suk Bo Lee is hosting a special exhibition titled 'Spring Before You' at the Vichae Art Museum in Bangbae-dong, Seoul, from March 7th to 28th. The exhibition showcases 25 of Lee's stunning works, illuminated by the warm glow of spring.
Lee's paintings of wildflowers stand out for their unique approach. Unlike many artists who depict flowers in vast fields, Lee's focus is on wildflowers that have a more intimate connection to human life.
Lee's art is often described as 'watercolor-like oil painting' due to its distinctive use of color. With studios in Anyang, Gyeonggi-do, and Jecheon, North Chungcheong, Lee finds himself busiest during the spring season, moving between his two workplaces.
Reflecting on his inspiration, Lee mentions the diverse interpretations wildflowers evoke. Some may see symbols of everlasting love, while others may find echoes of fleeting romance. It's this multifaceted charm that captivates Lee and inspires his work.
Through his art, Suk Bo Lee invites viewers to embrace the beauty and complexity of wildflowers, each telling its own story amidst the changing seasons.
