Son Heung-min, representing Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League, scored a crucial goal in his first match back with the club after international duty. The goal, which came in the 86th minute, proved decisive in Spurs' 2-1 triumph over Luton Town at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Saturday.
In the closing stages of the match, Son received a pass from Brennan Johnson and fired a shot that found its way into the net after deflecting off defender Daiki Hashioka.
The victory elevated Tottenham to 56 points, placing them three points behind Aston Villa in the top-four race. With a match in hand at 29, Tottenham has nine matches remaining in the season.
Son Heung-min, currently tied for fourth in goals in the Premier League alongside Jarrod Bowen of West Ham United and Mohamed Salah of Liverpool, has scored a total of 15 goals this season. His goal against Luton Town marked his 160th with Tottenham, surpassing Cliff Jones to rank fifth on the club's all-time scoring list.
During the match against Luton Town, Son hit both goal posts before eventually securing the winning goal.
Reflecting on his tenure with Tottenham, Son expressed gratitude towards his teammates and coaches, emphasizing his commitment to contributing to the team's success. He stated, "Football is a team sport, and the individual comes afterwards."
